Lisa McDonald has been teaching in some form or other for over 34 years. She started teaching dance and youth groups as a teenager. She attended the University of Alberta and received a Bachelor of Education Degree with minors in Early Childhood Education and Ukrainian language. She went on to work on her Masters in Ukrainian Folklore. Lisa taught for 12 years with Edmonton Catholic Schools before moving to Montana and then Wyoming. In Montana, she accepted a position for 3 months teaching French, Math and Agricultural Engineering. She says that was quite the experience as she knows nothing about Agriculture and even less about Math, but she spoke French so the job was hers! Teaching is definitely not for the faint of heart! She has taught numerous Adult Education classes and workshops ranging in topics such as Ukrainian language, Ethnic dance, Aromatherapy, Art, Focus and Concentration and Baking. In Shelby, Montana she opened a dance studio called Shelby World of Dance and upon moving to Cody, WY, she formed a Dance Troupe called Big Horn Bellydance. Now in Casper, she dances with Veiled Threats, teaches Art classes in 5 counties and substitute teaches for Natrona County Schools. She an Independent consultant for Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic Health and Beauty and Zilis Hemp Oil. She also bakes Ukrainian Wedding Bread and ships it all over the US. In her spare time ;) she volunteers as a Master Gardener, loves to travel with her husband and children and rides her bike.
