Tired of struggling how to 'reach' the students who seem to be unreachable? Research shows our students of poverty process, retain and express information differently than those that do not live in poverty. Attendees will delve into the findings surrounding the poverty mindset in order to replicate and modify learned strategies to build relationships with students of poverty, increase comprehension, raise student success and decrease discipline referrals. This workshop will be hands-on where participants will experience and practice many of the applications taught. Educators will also collaborate with others in the room to share ideas for implementation and execution. We must not punish or condemn our children which possess a poverty mindset, we must educate them to provide a way out of it for them.

Attendees will be able to identify the 9 Resouces essential for identifying the poverty mindset and the role each plays in establishing growth.
Attendees will understand the 10 actions and how to address student growth, emotionally, physically and mentally.
Attendees will possess real world, practical application strategies they can implement immediately into the classroom regardless of grade level or learning ability.
