Digital literacy skills are an integral part of a learner’s successful education. Learners need to be able to effectively communicate, collaborate and solve problems digitally to succeed in work and life both in school and after graduation. We must recognize the importance of these vital digital literacy skills to ensure learner success.
Attendees will practice the technical and cognitive skills necessary to search, evaluate, and curate information in order to solve problems digitally. In addition, attendees will utilize these skills and processes to collaborate and share solutions to real-world issues. Participants will develop a better understanding of copyright and its application in the learning environment as well familiarize themselves with the concept of a digital identity.

1. Develop and refine their understanding of what aspects of digital literacy are important for independent learners
2. Build knowledge by actively exploring real-world issues and problems, developing ideas and theories and pursuing answers and solutions
3. Apply digital literacy tools and resources in the classroom
