Leslie S. Rush is a professor in the Department of Secondary Education at the University of Wyoming, where she serves as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs n the College of Education. Dr. Rush has received the University of Wyoming's John P. Ellbogen Meritorious Classroom Teaching Award and the Promoting Intellectual Engagement in the First Year Award. Her research interests include disciplinary literacy in English Language Arts and instructional methods for reading and writing instruction in English Language Arts classrooms. Dr. Rush's research on the work of Instructional Facilitators in Wyoming secondary schools was funded by the International Reading Association's Elva Knight Research Grant. Dr. Rush taught high school English for twelve years in California, Texas, and East Africa. An active member of NCTE and its affiliate organization, the Conference on English Education, Dr. Rush was the co-editor of the CEE journal, English Education from 2010-2015. She was recently elected to the CEE Executive Committee for 2016-2020. Dr. Rush has published in Reading Research and Instruction, Reading Online, The Rural Educator, and the Journal of  Literacy Research. In addition, she serves on the editorial review boards for Reading Research Quarterly, Journal of Literacy Research, and The Qualitative Report.
