Carol leads the Computer Networking Administration AAS, IT Support Technician Certificate and Cyber Security AAS/Certificate programs at NWCCD. Since joining the college in 2015, Carol has revamped each program and updated courses to align student outcomes with industry demanded skills.
Carol has developed 19 online courses in the format adhering to the Quality Matters specification thus ensuring that students access course materials and assignments in a consistent format throughout the program.
Carol achieved faculty certification in 5 Cisco courses to enable the college to offer Cisco NetAcademy curriculum for the highly sought after Cisco CCNA and Cisco Security certifications. Next up is preparation for AWS Amazon Cloud Foundations and CompTIA Cyber Security Analyst courses.
Prior to joining the college, Carol’s career spanned nearly 40 years and included a variety of roles in and around technology during a time when technology was evolving on a daily basis. Work experience included many business sectors to include education, retail and healthcare. Carol’s introduction to technology started with a 12-year enlistment with the U.S. Navy in Naval Security Group where she was the first woman to achieve the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer in her specialty. Carol moved to Gillette in 2014, and when not in front of a computer, she enjoys digging in her flower garden, riding horses with friends, and exploring the outdoors.
