Dr. Cindy Jones is a native Texan and considers herself lucky to call Laramie, Wyoming home. As an active professional of 29 years in the field of education, Cindy considers it a privilege to serve learners and educators while facilitating authentic learning opportunities in K-12 classrooms. Cindy’s extensive experience in education includes service as a reading, writing, and history teacher, literacy coach, school improvement specialist, reading interventionist, teacher development specialist, curriculum writer, educational consultant, and adult education adjunct instructor. Cindy holds a BA in English, an M.A.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and a Ph.D. in Education: Learning, Instruction, and Innovation. Her current role as the Program Manager for Engineering Outreach at the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of Wyoming allows Cindy to continue her work in facilitating authentic learning experiences in K-12 classrooms by partnering professional engineers, GIS professionals, and professional land surveyors with K12 classrooms. She is proud to support the CEPS engineering initiative and K-14 STEM outreach. In her free time, Cindy enjoys music, hiking, kayaking, camping, fishing, baking, cooking, reading, laughing, and spending time with her husband, Tim, a cellist and writer, her six amazing children, and her two beautiful grandbabies.
