David Stokowski

David’s entire 20-year career has been in academia--either seeking to create new knowledge as a research scientist, or in direct education of students and teachers. His educational background has been focused in the sciences with a B.S. in Chemistry from the Colorado School of Mines, and an M.S. in Atmospheric Science from Colorado State University. He is a former K12 Math teacher and former tenure-track Community College faculty in the physical sciences.

David is currently the Canvas Adoption Consultant to the state of Wyoming. In this position he has traveled the state of Wyoming, working with administrators and teachers to help find ways to increase Canvas usage statewide. In the first 7 months of the job, he had driven over 10,000 miles to visit 15 of Wyoming’s 48 school districts, as well as four of the state’s seven community colleges. David’s work with these schools has varied from creating local adoption plans aligned to district and school goals and strategic plans, to delivering district- or building-wide Canvas training, to working 1:1 with teachers helping them build Canvas content aligned to state standards and/or local priority standards.

David currently lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife, mother-in-law, two kids, two dogs, six fish, and our newly acquired crested gecko. When he’s not working, you will likely find him cross-stitching, rooting on his Colorado Rockies, or taking a leisurely bike ride along one of Denver’s many bike trails.
