Stacey McCarty

CCSD/Paintbrush Elementary
Third Grade Teacher
Education runs in the veins of Stacey McCarty.  McCarty grew up idolizing her grandmother who was a special education in North Dakota for 40 years. Her father was a middle school principal for over 35 years.   Those influences molded McCarty into the teacher she is today. McCarty is a third grade teacher at Paintbrush Elementary in Gillette, Wyoming.  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.  McCarty also has her Masters of Art degree in Education Administration.  She began her teaching career teaching special education in Belle Fourche, South Dakota for 12 years.  At the completion of those 12 years McCarty and her family moved to Gillette where she accepted a special education position at Paintbrush Elementary.  After 4 years of teaching special education McCarty transitioned to a third grade teacher at Paintbrush Elementary and this is where she currently resides. McCarty strives to teach, nurture, and care for the whole child.  She ensures that each student is given an environment that is safe, warm, and engaging.  McCarty instills in her students the power of a growth mindset.  With this mindset she teaches her students that anything is possible and to never give up.  McCarty also prepares her students for the 21st Century. She does this by teaching her students to be creative, collaborative, to think critically, and to be good communicators.   McCarty has three children Laney (14), Brodie (11), and Kunio (4).  Her husband, a special education, also teaches at Paintbrush Elementary.
